MACON, Ga. — The body of a missing 18-year-old has been found near Lake Wildwood according to coroner Leon Jones.
Luis Hernandez was last seen at his home in the 1200 block of North Plantation Parkway on Dec. 19.
His body was found in the woods near the spillway off Greentree Parkway in Macon's Lake Wildwood subdivision.
According to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, Hernandez was found dead from a self-inflicted injury.
He was found during a search by his family members.
Before he went missing his aunt says she and Hernandez got into an argument about the home being messy and he left the home without her knowing.
Deputies searched the area but did not find him.
On Dec. 20, deputies came back to the home to file a missing person report because Hernandez had not returned, a release said.
They say Hernandez may have left home with a bag containing some of his belongings including a Glock 19 that his aunt says he usually carries for protection.
