MACON, Ga. — Mercer University students and staff came together Thursday to honor the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the third annual "Living the Dream" March.
Organizers say the goal was to remember King's legacy and the 1963 March on Washington.
They also held a program on campus to celebrate Dr. King.
The keynote speak was Judge Louis Sands, the first African-American to serve in many prominent legal roles including Chief Judge for the Middle District of Georgia.
Organizer Ansley Booker says they just want everyone to be treated equal.
"We have to use our differences to make sure we're being inclusive, making sure we're bringing opportunities, equity, justice, and access for all individuals, not those that think and act like we do," said Booker.
