This week we're surprising our new Junior Journalists in school. For the last few weeks the difficult audition process narrowed the field from 124 down to 10.
WEDNESDAY
Braylin Edwards – 6th grader at Wilkinson County Middle School
Braylin’s favorite books are the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series because he claims he’s a “nerd” just like Jeff. He LOVES sports, especially football because he can tackle people.
Ellie Ruth Mullis – 5th grader at Northwest Laurens Elementary School
Ellie Ruth is a poet and loves to read. She is quite dramatic according to her mom, and gets excited about almost everything.
Maddy Land – 6th grader at Bleckley County Middle School
Maddy loves to read and act, and she already has TV experience working as an anchor for her school broadcast. Harriet Tubman is her role model because Maddy says she endured so much to help many others.
TUESDAY
Anna Keisler – 6th grader at Bonaire Middle School
Anna is a young author and is already working on a book series. She wants to travel the world, especially to Europe, and loves to talk to people.
Ava Trussell – 7th grader at Bonaire Middle School
Ava loves to cook for her family and loves writing. She has already won a public speaking contest and has pursued acting as well.
LeVaughn Scott – 6th grader at Mossy Creek Middle School
LeVaughn is a sharp dresser and loves riling up his Chihuahua/rat terrier mix. He is also a HUGE Atlanta Falcons fan.
Genesis Griffin – 6th grader at Thomson Middle School
Gen loves all types of dancing, especially working on routines with the dance team. Her favorite food is Ramen noodles with hot sauce.
MONDAY
Haleigh Howell – 6th grade cadet at Georgia Military College Prep in Milledgeville
She is a big Taylor Swift fan and loves tacos! She has been watching 13WMAZ since she was little and has always dreamed of being a Junior Journalist.
Layla Floyd – 6th grader at Howard Middle School in Bibb County
Layla loves to cook and bake, and she also makes instructional videos of her cooking lessons. Someone she admires for her grace and elegance is Princess Diana.
Raines Murphy – 5th grader at the Academy for Classical Education in Macon.
Raines is crazy about soccer! So much so that he would like to go to Brazil and visit so he could play soccer there.
