A Houston County man was sentenced to prison Friday for murdering two people over drug debts and dumping their bodies in the woods.
That came after a jury convicted Coleman Crouch on all eight counts against him, including two counts of malice murder and two counts of concealing a body.
District Attorney George Hartwig says they deliberated for about an hour.
The crime happened in August 2013, at a home on Chadwick Road in southwest Houston County.
Hartwig says Crouch owed the victims between $5,000 and $15,000 from drug deals.
So with the help of several friends, according to Hartwig, he murdered them. The bodies were dumped about seven miles away.
Hartwig says Crouch on Friday was sentenced to life with possible parole on the murder charges, plus 20 more years in prison for concealing the bodies.
The man convicted of actually firing the shots, Thomas Kelley, is now serving a life sentence after pleading guilty to murder this year.
