MACON, Ga. — Update, April 11 12:30 p.m.:
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office has identified the man hit in the hit-and-run crash as James Otis Collins.
In a release, they said according to Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley the next of kin has been notified.
The driver and vehicle are still unknown at this time.

A man is dead after a hit-and-run crash in east Macon early Thursday morning, according to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The call came into the Macon-Bibb Emergency-911 Center at 1:39 a.m. about a man in the roadway on Irwinton Road near Hitchcock Road.
Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced him dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle did not return to the scene to report the crash. The driver and vehicle are unknown at this time.
The man is described as a black man in his 50s or 60s with a slender build at around 5’7”. Miley said an autopsy will be performed.
