Man found shot dead in car at Clisby Place identified

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is still investigating what led up to his death.

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death that happened at the 200 Block of Clisby Place on Wednesday.

In a release, they said that they got a call of an abandoned vehicle at around 9:30 a.m. on Clisby Place at Hazlehurst Street.

The car was reported as a silver Chevrolet Impala, with dark tinted windows.

When deputies arrived, they found a man who was unresponsive in the back of the car. He died from a gunshot to his chest.

According to coroner Lean Jones, the man has been identified as 65-year-old Eddie Lee Davis Jr. of Macon.

Right now, investigators are still working the case and the spot where it happened is blocked off.

The circumstances leading up to his death are still under investigation. 13WMAZ will provide updates as soon as they are available.
