A woman was shot in the foot late Tuesday night during a ‘personal armed robbery.’
According to a news release from the Bibb Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call at the Circle K gas station in the 2500-block of Riverside Drive around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday.
It was reported to them that D’Angelo Stokes, 27, his girlfriend Angela Bradley, and her 3-month-old child were at the gas pumps waiting to meet with an unknown man, later identified as Thomas Richard Sallette.
The release says Sallette got into Stokes’ car and the two got into an argument, at which time he took the keys out of Stokes’ hands and demanded money.
Sallette and Stokes got out of the car and exchanged gunfire, which hit Bradley in the foot.
Sallette then got into another car and drove off from the scene.
Investigators met with him overnight and investigators issued warrants for charges of armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, one count of child cruelty and possession of a firearm by a first offender.
He is currently recovering at the hospital after being shot in the leg and will be taken to jail upon his release.
