Federal prosecutors say two men who owned and operated a pill mill pain clinic have been convicted of drug and money laundering.
Officials say the clinic's primary physician was a doctor from Macon.
The clinic was called "Atlanta Medical Group" and was located in Cartersville, GA. Authorities say 30-year-old Jason Votrobek of Vero Beach, Florida, and 34-year-old Roland Castellanos of Holllywood, Florida, ran the clinic. Votrobek and Castellanos, along with their co-conspirators, illegally prescribed pain medications to customers.
Prosecutors say the group ordered the doctor to see as many patients and prescribe as much pills as possible. Authorities say the clinic's doctor didn't conduct proper exams and was usually intoxicated at work.
