Pedestrian in 'critical condition' after being hit in Macon, sheriff's office says

They say it happened just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

MACON, Ga. — A pedestrian is in "critical condition" after being hit by a car on Pio Nono Avenue Tuesday afternoon, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office confirmed. 

They say it happened near Stephens Street at around 1 p.m. 

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital where they are being treated for their injuries. 

The Sheriff's Office says that they are in critical condition but they have been able to stabilize the patient.

Right now, investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
