MACON, Ga. — A man was doing yard work Thursday afternoon when he stumbled on a deadly bicycle wreck, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. He says the victim had been dead for several hours.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says they received the call just before 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, and it happened within the 3300 block of Pio Nono Circle. That's a residential area off of Pio Nono Avenue.
Investigators believe the man was riding his bike downhill when he lost control and fell down an embankment, the sheriff's office says.
Jones says the man was found about 100 yards off the road.
When Jones arrived on the scene, he pronounced the man dead. They have not identified the victim since his next of kin have not been notified.
The sheriff's office says the accident is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 478-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
This is a developing story. We'll provide more information when it becomes available.
