Man arrested after shooting on Mercer University Drive in west Macon, sheriff's office says

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office said it happened around 3:30 early Saturday morning

MACON, Ga. — A man was arrested after a shooting early Saturday morning near the Macon Mall in west Macon, according to a Bibb County Sheriff's Office press release.

According to the release, a 37-year-old man was shot within a residence within the 3600 block of Mercer University Drive around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday. The release said Victor Brown, 59, shot him.

The release said the 37-year-old was taken to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment and is in stable condition. Brown, meanwhile, was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and his weapon was recovered. 

Brown faces several charges, including seven counts of aggravated assaults, four counts of first-degree cruelty to children and a reckless conduct charge, according to the release. He was also denied bond.
