Food truck festival, indigenous celebration, pickleball championship still on despite possible rain

Some events are moving forward as planned, but others are moving indoors.

MACON, Ga. — A day of wet weather could be on deck, but plenty of Macon Saturday events are still on! The 32nd Annual Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration, Picnic in the Park and the state pickleball championship will all move forward Saturday, but some have extra plans in place just in case.

32nd Annual Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration

What: A free celebration of southeastern Native American heritage. There will be cultural crafts, stories, demonstrations, dancing and food from Native American vendors.

Where: Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park | Parking: 171 Emery Highway (Macon-Bibb County Health Plaza)

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Rain plans: The celebration is on as planned, according to park staff.

Picnic in the Park

What: More than a dozen food vendors are set to dazzle Maconites, along with "T-Luv" Todd Davis, who's providing live entertainment. Bounce houses for the kids and wine slushes for mom and dad will help to highlight the event.

Where: Macon State Farmers Market | 2055 Eisenhower Parkway

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday

Rain plans: The event moved from Carolyn Crayton park to farmers market because of weather. Macon-Bibb County Parks and Recreation encourages people to bring pop-up tents, picnic blankets or lawn chairs.

Georgia Recreation and Park Association State Pickleball Championship

What: Set for its third-straight year in Macon, Tennis and Pickleball Manager Bobby Walker said players would test their skills against the best in the state this weekend. Singles had their main event Friday night, but gender doubles are on deck Saturday with mixed doubles playing Sunday.

Where: Rhythm and Rally | 3661 Eisenhower Parkway (in Macon Mall)

When: All weekend!

Rain plans: Moved completely indoors for Saturday, but Sunday's competition may move back to Tattnall Square Park, home of the state title matches in 2022 and 2023.
