MACON, Ga. — An Ingleside coffee shop and bakery is closing its doors for good, according to a post from the coffee shop.
Oh Honey Baking Co. opened in 2022, but in a short message on their Instagram, they said it was time to close their doors on Monday.
"It is with heavy hearts we announce that our investors have decided to close Oh Honey effective immediately," the business said on their Instagram story. "We love you all so dearly."
The post did not include any information about why they were closing. But on Facebook, they said, "We are so sorry we've let you down, sweet Macon community."
In an email to 13WMAZ, an Oh Honey representative said they really don't know much about why the coffee shop was closing.
In a statement, they said: "We can’t say much right now (because we honestly don’t fully know what our next steps are), except that our investors told us we were being shut down effective immediately this afternoon and have already changed the locks," they said in a statement. "We are expected to be out by the end of the day."
It comes on the heels of a few recent business closures in the past month.
A restaurant in Warner Robins, Mike's Hotdogs and Hamburgers, announced their closure on June 21 after 34 years in business. Commenters say the decision was a product of the restaurant owner, Mike Wellon, retiring.
Then, in Macon, Pearl Passionate Cuisine and Cocktails shut down to pave the way for the expansion of their tiki bar business, the Monkeys Paw. The owners announced on Monday that they were turning Pearl into a tapas and small plate restaurant with the Monkey's Paw name.
Additionally, the Macon Hooters closed its doors suddenly as the restaurant company closed "underperforming restaurants" across the nation, according to a letter given to employees on the day of the restaurant's closure. You can see a full list of Hooters restaurant closures here.
