MACON, Ga. — It all started with a fight at a youth baseball game. But then, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says gunshots rang out at a Macon park Monday evening.
As investigators looked into the shooting at Bloomfield Park on Rocky Creek Road, kids in little league uniforms and their parents stood around.
Now, the sheriff's office said a 35-year-old man Marquize Hogan was arrested on Wednesday in connection to the shooting, which sent a man to the hospital after the bullet grazed his shoulder.
They say he was not the intended target of the shooting. Now, the sheriff's office says Hogan faces 30 counts of aggravated assault.
The man who was shot is expected to be okay.
It all happened Monday evening just before 6:10 p.m. According to witnesses, a disagreement between two men then led to one of them opening fire while "children were present," the press release said.
Hogan was arrested on Wednesday just before 3 pm. by the U.S. Marshal's Southeast Regional Task Force, the press release said. Hogan was eventually booked into the Bibb County jail.
If you have any information, the sheriff's office says you can call them at 458-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
