Ben Sapp, executive director of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, will be stepping down at the end of June.
Sapp has spent the last 11 years at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
He says there will be a national search to find the best replacement for executive director.
Sapp is most proud the Hall of Fame's outreach to Georgia's young people.
He thanked his staff for their support over the years and says the Hall of Fame is in capable hands.
"That's one of the things I'm most proud of, that we've been able to maintain the hall of fame's presence here in middle Georgia and that it is on sound financial footing going forward," says Sapp. "We have gone through a fairly extensive transition period as we've gone from a publicly funded and managed institution to a privately managed organization."
Sapp says he's leaving the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame to pursue a career in real estate.
