I walk every morning at the mall."Muff believes breaking down the old, empty wing may be the fresh start the mall needs."I think it will be better if they fill it up over here," she said, "They'll get more business."Hull Storey Gibson LLC, the mall's owners, plan to demolish the east wing, between J.C. Penney and what used to be Dillard's. The demolition was delayed several times in recent weeks.Bingham says the focus now revolves around this one former store."We should be done in the next couple of days," she said, "We've got several trucks coming in here to take care of the materials and recycle them for us."They're calling the entire renovation plan a green project. As the walls continue to come down, management says it's a small step toward revitalizing the mall."To make everyone see the compassion that we have for bringing the mall back, and our desire to bring shoppers and patrons back to mall and make sure that they feel safe and secure," said Bingham.J.C. Penney will gain a third exterior entrance and a new parking lot. Bingham said there will also be a grassy area outside the Dillard's building where events will be held, and a new traffic circle by the Eisenhower Parkway mall entrance.
