Bibb County Sheriff's Office to hold Night to Unite event at multiple locations across the Macon-Bibb area

The event will kick off with a pep rally and press conference on Monday, and then will have multiple other events across Macon-Bibb at 29 different locations

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is looking to invite Macon natives to join together to "unite against crime."

The sheriff's office is hosting its annual Bibb County Sheriff's Office Night to Unite event hoping to promote involvement in in various crime prevention activities. They're also hoping people will get more involved in law enforcement and develop community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie by encouraging communities to unite against crime.

In a release, the sheriff's office said that several Neighborhood Watch groups and neighborhoods throughout Macon-Bibb will be celebrating the Night to Unite event with multiple outdoor activities. They are as follows:

  • Block parties
  • Cookouts
  • Neighborhood clean-ups
  • Flashlight walks
  • Story time
  • Distribution of various supplies
  • Visits from law enforcement

There is an initial press conference and pep rally on Monday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. at Northeast High School. There will be a master ceremony by Bibb County Sheriff's Office captain Ellis Sinclair, presentation of colors and the national anthem preformed by Northeast High School students, a dance performed by the Soulful Ageless Dancers and speeches made by other members of the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

In total, there are 29 different places that these events will be happening at. All events will be happening on Tuesday, September 17, unless specifically stated otherwise. The locations are included below:

  • 100 Clubhouse Road on Saturday September 14, 2024 - From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Kick Off/Pep Rally 1646 Upper River Rd Northeast High School Monday September 16, 2024 - From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • 1211 Maynard St. Ft. Hill @ Rosa Jackson Center - From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • 3850 Ray Road MOTHA/Swift Creek Church - From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Mt Moriah Baptist Church 2789 Millerfield Road Lakeside Hills/Latanya Village/ Rockland Apartments  - From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Kings Park 3296 Kingston Court - From 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Tatnall Square Park Tatnall Heights/Huguenin Heights/ Beall’s Hills - From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • 300 Charter Blvd Pinegate Neighbors - From 2 p.m. tp 6 p.m.
  • Napier Avenue Cherokee Heights/Bartlett Crossings - From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Habersham Avenue/ Link Baptist Church - From 5:00 p.m. to  8 p.m.
  • Corner of North Atwood and Westminster Drive - From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 
  • Joshua House 5263 Bloomfield Road - From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 
  • Log Cabin @ Evers Place. SEA - From 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • 1442 Berkshire Drive Berkshire Neighborhood Watch - From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Hightower Road Baltic Park - From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 1793 Wren Avenue Anthony Homes - From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • 3520 Kenneth Drive Cherry Blossom Rehab Center - From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Vineville Avenue Clisby Towers - From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. 
  • Rocky Creek Road Bloomfield Recreation Center Sherwood Forest and Southfield/Jefferson Hills - From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Earl Street Bellevue Concerned Citizens - From 6 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. 
  • Vineville Avenue Vineville Tower - From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
  • Lawrence Drive Pinehill Neighborhood Watch - From 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. 
  • Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center 132 Willie Smokie Glover Drive - From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
  • Houston Road South Bibb Recreation Center South Bibb/Windmill Plantation - From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Cavelier Drive The Gardens - From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 
  • 1850 Tindall Avenue Tindall Fields - From 5 p.m. to  8 p.m.
  • Joe Waller Drive @ Mohawk Drive at the Lake/ Lake Arrowhead Belvedere Manor/Weaver Hgts. - 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
  • Pio Nono Ave Mother’s Nest Westside Neighbors - From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
  • 2009 Vineville Avenue - From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The event will also partner with multiple organizations. Those partnered with the sheriff's office include the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department, Macon-Bibb County Government, Macon-Bibb County Solid Waste Department, Golden Flake, Frito Lay, Apparel Authority, Kroger, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, AARP, Keep Macon Bibb Beautiful, Warren Associates, Navilla Bellis, Humana, Macon Transit Authority, Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, Macon-Bibb County Parks & Recreation, Bibb County Public Schools, Macon Regional Crimestoppers, Faith Based Community, and Local Merchants.
