2 dead after multiple vehicle crash near Carlyle Place and Zebulon Road, release says

A Georgia State Patrol release said the accident happened around 8 p.m. on Friday

MACON, Ga. — Two people are dead after a multiple-vehicle crash in north Macon, according to a press release from Georgia State Patrol.

The release said Mary Hodder, 81, was driving a Ford Focus exiting Carlyle Place onto Zebulon Road around 8 p.m. on Friday. The release added that her husband, an 88-year-old man from Kodak, Tennessee, was in the passenger seat.

According to the release, a Suzuki motorcycle, driven by Zachary Buehler, 24, was driving east on Zebulon Road. The Ford Focus, when exiting Carlyle Place, drove into Buehler's path and they collided.

The release said both Hodder and Buehler were pronounced dead at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon. Coroner Leon Jones said that Hodder's husband is in stable condition at Atrium Health Navicent, but suffered multiple fractures.
