MACON, Ga. — Atrium Health Navicent is making sure people 50 years from now will know just a little bit more about what Macon was like in 2023.
On Thursday, several groups put meaningful items into a time capsule at Atrium Health Navicent.
The capsule will be sealed and opened again in 50 years. This comes a few months after opening time capsules from 1916 and 1973.
“It was an incredible experience to see and touch the items placed in the time capsules 50 and more than 100 years ago and to reflect on the rich history of what is now Atrium Health Navicent. We wanted to continue the tradition and preserve these mementos for the next generation,” Atrium Health Navicent President Delvecchio Finley said.

Jonas and Josiah Seabrooks are twins and former Children's Miracle Network Miracle kids. They added a video of themselves and wrote a letter.
"I can't say what this hospital means to this community just because of the care they provide, being able to access the critical services that some of these sick, sick children need. It's unexplainable," the twin's mom Kimberly said.
Seabrooks says she is so thankful for the hospital and their part in her family's lives.
"To be able to put their video and their story in and just say "hey this is what you guys did for our family" it just means a lot," she said.
Jonah and Josiah are turning 10 soon, so when the time capsule is opened in 2073, they'll be almost 60 years old.
