Macon State corrections officer charged with drug trafficking

A Macon State Prison corrections officer was arrested and charged for drug trafficking over the weekend.

A Macon State Prison corrections officer was arrested and charged for drug trafficking over the weekend, according to a post from the Montezuma Police Department.

The post says the department made several drug arrests over the weekend that lead to the arrest De’marcus Deon Woolfork, a corrections officer at Macon State.

Over 57 grams of methamphetamine -- about 2 ounces -- were seized from his home and 87.7 grams of marijuana -- about 3 ounces-- was seized from his car with several Paypal cards and cellphones.

Woolfork is charged with trafficking of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He is at the Macon County Jail.

According to the post, the Montezuma Police Department and Macon State Prison are working together to see who was working with Woolfork. The case has been turned over to federal authorities.
