MACON, Ga. — On Saturday, Macon Pickleball members gathered at the new indoor pickleball facility at the Macon Mall for a few hours of gameplay to test out the facility and equipment.
Folks there say they had a great time trying out the courts and are excited for the facility to open.
They were there from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and in addition to testing the equipment and space, it was also to help staff get comfortable with 150 people playing all at once.
The pickleball facility is part of a larger project to revitalize the Macon Mall. In addition to the courts, Macon-Bibb is building a new 10,000-seat outdoor amphitheater, moving government services there, and remodeling large portions of the mall.
The new pickleball facility will be open to the public in a few weeks.
