MACON, Ga. — A Macon mother is being credited with the arrest of an armed robbery and carjacking suspect – her own son – after taking him to investigators.
According to a news release, 17-year-old Truvon Humphrey surrendered to investigators after being dropped off at the office by his mother on Dec. 27.
He was wanted for two robberies / carjacking incidents.
The first happened on Dec. 17 at Daffodil Avenue. Humphrey reportedly walked up to a man and demanded money and his car keys at gunpoint.
The next robbery happened at Vineville Christian Towers on Christmas Eve. Humphrey allegedly walked up to an older woman and demanded her purse and keys. He drove off before deputies got to the scene.
Humphrey is charged with one count of robbery and two counts of hijacking a motor vehicle. He is being held without bond.
