Macon Mentors Project hosts Christmas party for those in need

The Mentors Project and other organizations held a Christmas party for those in need at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Macon Tuesday.

MACON, Ga. — The Mentors Project, along with other organizations, held a Christmas party for those in need at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Macon Tuesday.

Visitors received a free meal and gift bag. 13WMAZ spoke with Erwin Hill, who says he's very thankful to know he's not forgotten in the community.

"I feel that this has been a blessing to me because of what I've been through in life. Me, myself, I couldn't have made it without the man upstairs," Hill said.

This was the Mentors Project's 20th anniversary of feeding the homeless. Organizer June O'Neal says they're always looking for mentors, and if you'd like to become a mentor, you can call (478) 765-8624.
