MACON, Ga. — Burglars went offside into the Macon Mayhem’s offices three times in the last month.
They took jerseys, hoodies, a 75-inch TV, binders with season ticket holders’ personal and groups' credit-card data, $300 from a cash register, a $900 walkie talkie and more.
Reports say one man burglarized the hockey team’s office on March 16 and 26. Then two men broke in on March 20. They say the original thief returned at least once. The men got into the Mayhem’s headquarters through a garage-style roll-up door. The report says the Coliseum building is “older and not in the best condition.”
On the 20th, the report says, the two thieves wandered through the Coliseum and also tried to break into the box office by picking the lock. Mayhem staff also told deputies there was a fourth break-in earlier this year.
The Mayhem told 13WMAZ that they don't believe the account information of ticket holders was taken.
However, they say some credit card information from group purchases, such as camps and school groups, were left around the room which may have been taken. They have notified the organizations to let them know to be on the lookout for any suspicious purchases.
The Macon Centreplex's general manager David Aiello released a statement regarding the break-ins: "When we were made aware of the incident, we immediately reported it to the Macon-Bibb County Sheriff's Office. The Mayhem have always been a valued partner, and we will continue tow work with them and the authorities on this on-going investigation."
