Macon man previously charged with murder arrested for shooting at home

He was charged with shooting at two teens at a bus stop, and then shooting and killing another teen at a birthday party in 2011

MACON, Ga. — A Macon man previously indicted for murder as a teen is back in jail on multiple charges of aggravated assault.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, they arrested Robreon Lee around 2 a.m. Monday on four counts of aggravated assault for a shooting at the corner of Walnut Street and Forest Avenue on Nov. 5, 2019.

He was initially thought to be a victim in the shooting, but investigators say he was the one who was shooting at the house.

No one was home at the time of the shooting, but Lee was found with a gunshot wound to the head that night and was taken to the hospital.

Lee’s name is not unknown to law enforcement either.

On Aug. 24, 2011, Lee was accused of shooting two Westside High students at a bus stop on Virginia Drive.

Three days later, 16-year-old Arquentris Fountain, was fatally shot in the head while outside of a ‘Sweet 16’ party at a ballroom on Eisenhower Parkway.

Two other teens -- Kyrod Butts, 19, and Devin Williams, 18 – were also shot at the party that night.

Lee was arrested in Sept. 2011 and charged with Fountain’s murder, multiple counts of aggravated assault for shooting the other two men and teens at their bus stop, participating in street gang activity, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

But in March 2013, Lee was sentenced to 15 years in prison with five to be served under gang conditions after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated assault stemming from the bus stop shooting.

At the time, Sandra Matson with the Bibb County District Attorney's office said the other charges were dismissed, including the murder charge, because victims and witnesses weren't fully cooperative.

Another reason why charges were dismissed was because Lee pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in the first shooting.

13WMAZ reached out to District Attorney David Cooke's office for comment on the 2013 plea deal. The office sent us this statement:

"Due to the new, pending case against Mr. Lee, we're limited in what we can say aside from factual information. We will review the evidence in this new case once it's investigated and act accordingly to seek justice for our community."
