Bibb deputies have charged the man inside the apartment at Blossom Hill where a 15-year-old girl was shot Tuesday afternoon.
According to an updated news release, 15-year-old Nykhia Sampson was handling 18-year-old Kedrick Reynolds' gun.
When Reynolds took the gun from Sampson, it discharged and hit her in the neck.
Reynolds is charged with giving false statements because investigators say his statement at the scene was found to be false.
He is also charged with felony probation violation and a hold for the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.
Sampson is still in critical condition.
The shooting remains under investigation.
