TWIGGS COUNTY, Ga. — A Macon man who ran away from a traffic stop in Twiggs County last week is now in custody.
38-year-old Ashley Wade Brown faces more than a dozen charges, according to Twiggs County Chief Deputy Buddy Long.
Long says that on November 14, a Twiggs officer tried to stop Brown on Interstate 16 near Highway 96.
Brown's SUV came to a rolling stop, then he jumped out and ran into the woods.
Two Twiggs schools went on lockdown briefly as officers searched for him.
On Tuesday, U.S. marshals arrested Brown at a Macon home, Long says.
Now he's charged with reckless driving, following too close, and obstructing an officer.
Brown is also charged with driving without a license, a registration or insurance, failing to use seat belts or his turn signal and more.
Brown is now in the Twiggs County jail, and is also being held on a warrant from Seminole County, Georgia.
