Home catches fire in north Macon

Three engines were called to the scene on the 5000-block of Wellington Drive

MACON, Ga. — Macon-Bibb Fire crews were called to a home on fire Thursday afternoon. 

According to Chief Shane Edwards, no one was home when a fire broke out on the 5000-block of Wellington Drive. 

As of 6:45 p.m., three fire engines were on the scene working to get the fire under control. Edwards says investigators are on the way to the home to find a cause for the fire. 

No one was injured.
