MACON, Ga. — Christmas is the season of giving. One Macon organization is gifting children with new rides.
Students at Bruce Elementary School were donated bikes given by the 100 Black Men Association. They gave away 50 bicycles to kids who achieved excellence in reading.
One parent, Evan Knox, says seeing the organization and school partnering shows him the community cares.
"Everybody isn't able to afford it," Knox says. "My son being able to win a bike is pretty nice."
100 Black Men is a community-based organization that has been around for 25 years.
Principal Kizzie Lott says the school is also bringing a new reading and mentoring program in January.
