Firefighters say smoke caused damage throughout the Captain D's location

MACON, Ga. — A fire early Monday morning caused damage throughout a Macon fast food restaurant.

It happened at the Captain D's off Gray Highway in east Macon.

An alarm alerted fire fighters around 4 a.m.

A passerby also called saying they saw smoke pouring from the back of the building.

According to the Macon-Bibb Fire Department,  when they got there smoke and some flames were visible at the back of the restaurant.

Firefighters say a rear storage area got most of the damage, although they say a good bit of smoke and some water got into the kitchen and dining area.

Right now, fire investigators aren't sure how the fire started.
