It seems like where there's dollars, there's robbers. Even Family Dollars.
The chain's discount stores here have been robbed at least a dozen times in the past two years.
That includes two this week.
On Thursday, a store clerk was shot in the leg during a robbery at the Family Dollar on Emery Highway after she told the gunman she was able to open the safe.
And on Friday, Family Dollar on Houston Avenue was robbed by two armed men. It was the third time the store was hit in 15 months.
According to the company's website, there are 16 Dollar Generals in Macon. Half have been robbed or burglarized in 2015 or 2016.

2123 Pio Nono Ave. (2), Aug. 16 and Sept. 29, 2016.
3656 Jeffersonville Road (2), Nov. 18, 2015 and Aug. 1, 2016.
3190 Mercer (2), Aug. 8, 2015 and Oct. 4, 2015.

We reached out to the Family Dollar company for information on their safety and security procedures. We have not heard back from them.
In the past two years, there have also been five robberies at Dollar General stores in Macon and one at Dollar Tree.
