Firefighters woke up early Saturday morning to start flipping some pink pancakes here in Macon.
The Macon-Bibb Fire Department hosted their 34th Annual Pink Pancake Breakfast as part of the Cherry Blossom Festival.
Guests were treated to unlimited pink pancakes, sausages and drinks as a part of a fundraiser.
Macon-Bibb County Fire Chief Marvin Riggins says they went through 5,000 flapjacks Saturday morning.
Each pancake helped to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
"It's very special to us I mean it effects so many people and it touches so many lives, including lives of firefighters themselves," RIggins said. "Personally, their families, my personal family so it's something that's very close to our hearts and close to everybody's home and so we want to do all that we can so we can make someone's life better."
Riggins says they will be back at the Union Building across from Central City Park next Saturday from 7-10 a.m.
