MACON, Ga. — The new Macon amphitheater has a new name as the countdown to the venue's opening date is around 60 days away.
Macon-Bibb County and Oak View Group announced a partnership with Atrium Health for the naming rights of the amphitheater.
“Music is a great way to bring people together, and we know that strong social relationships have been associated with improved physical and mental health,” said Atrium Health Navicent President Delvecchio Finley. “We’re proud to continue to support west Macon and provide additional opportunities for people from across the region to come together, improve health, elevate hope and advance healing for all.”
The Atrium Health Amphitheater will hold its first concert on March 24 as Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top take the stage.
In addition to concerts and other live entertainment, the Atrium Health Amphitheater will host various community events including Movies in the Park, Food Truck Fest, Local Live Music Nights, non-profit programming, and more.
The new partnership with Atrium Health includes a donation program which supports health care initiatives and improvements in the community. Guests attending events at the amphitheater can support these causes at food and beverage/concession locations throughout the venue.
“This partnership is about more than just entertainment…it’s about taking care of people and their needs. With Atrium Health Navicent, there will be many new health-centered events in this area,” says Macon-Bibb County Mayor Lester Miller. “If we can get more people to come here and take advantage of what’s offered, we will better be able to serve our entire community.”
The following concerts have been announced so far in addition to the Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top show.
- Riley Green: April 4
- Anthony Hamilton: April 13
