LIST | Veterans Day celebrations in Central Georgia

Central Georgia has several annual celebrations to honor troops who have served the United States.

MACON, Ga. — Veterans Day is happening Nov. 11, and several places around Central Georgia have planned events to honor those who served our country. 

Here's a few of the ceremonies you can attend with friends and family:

Cherry Blossom Veterans Day Parade

  • The Cherry Blossom Veterans Day parade will take place in downtown Macon at 3 p.m. on Nov. 10. The parade will feature patriotic-themed floats, military units, marching bands and more.

Veterans Day 5K

  • The Veterans Day 5K will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9. Registration closes on Nov. 8, and you can register at this link. The race officially begins at 8:30 a.m at Middle Georgia State University.

Veterans Day Golf Tournament

  • The Veterans Day Golf Tournament, hosted by the Cherry Blossom Festival at the River North Country Club, will begin at noon on Nov. 11, and is expected to last until 6 p.m. You can sign up here

Veterans Day Ride

  • Harley Davidson of Macon will be hosting a Veterans Day Ride on Nov. 9, starting at 9:30 a.m. The official ride starts at 11:30 a.m. The cost of admission is $25 for riders and an additional $5 for passengers

Warner Robins Veterans Day Ceremony

  • Warner Robins will be welcoming veterans and their families to a 9:30 a.m. breakfast at the Wellston Center on Monday, Nov. 11. Following that, the Warner Robins community is invited to celebrate the Veterans Day at a ceremony at City Hall at 11:00 a.m.

Milledgeville Veterans Day Ceremony

  • Milledgeville is holding an open Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 at 2249 Carl Vinson Highway. The event will feature a keynote speaker. To RSVP, contact Shenice Burch or Brenda Lance at 478-445-4516.

Middle Georgia State Veterans Day Ceremony

  • Middle Georgia State and Macon-Bibb will be holding an open Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. The ceremony takes place at the Coleman Hill monument on 285 Spring Street, established in memory of those battalion members.
