MACON, Ga. — Veterans Day is Friday, November 11, and many places in Central Georgia are hosting events and celebration to honor those who serve.
Some events have been canceled due to inclement weather following Tropical Storm Nicole, so be sure to check on event sites and call organizers if possible to make sure the event is still happening.
Macon-Bibb
Veterans Day Salute & Flag Retirement Ceremony -
Where: Fort Hawkins Visitors Center in Macon
When: Friday, November 11, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
The Nathaniel Macon Chapter of the DAR and the Boy Scouts Troup 10 are hosting this annual Veterans Day Salute & Flag Retirement Ceremony.
It will also feature a guest speaker: former Theatre Macon Director Jim Crisp.
Veterans Day Collaborative Coin Giveaway: Robins AFB Base Exchange -
When: Friday, November 11, 8 a.m. – 9 a.m.
The Robins AFB Base Exchange will be handing out limited edition Veteran Coins to those who serve.
Base Command will make an appearance during the event to honor our veterans.
If you are a veteran without access to Robins AFB, please contact the Robins AFB Base Exchange at 478-923-5536 and ask for Store Manager Angela Wilson so you can get a pass to the event to be recognized for your service.
MGA, Macon-Bibb To Host Veterans Day Ceremony at Coleman Hill -
Where: Coleman Hill in downtown Macon.
When: Friday, November 11, at 11 a.m.
For the 7th year in a row, Middle Georgia State University and Macon-Bibb are co-hosting a Veterans Day ceremony at Coleman Hill.
The event is free to the public, and will feature a Posting of the Colors, and a Laying of the Wreath with Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester Miller.
Challenge coins will also be presented to veterans who attend the event.
Perry
SEGAMI Marathon -
Where: Go Fish Education Center in Perry
When: Friday, November 11, at 12 p.m.

Veterans Day Breakfast -

When: Friday, November 11, 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
You can enjoy a Veterans Day Breakfast and ceremony honoring the men & women who served our great country on Friday morning in Warner Robins.
The free event is sponsored by the City of Warner Robins and welcomes all.
Milledgeville
Veterans day Parade -
Where: Goldstein Center for Performing Arts in Milledgeville
When: Friday, November 11, 11 a.m.
Georgia Military College announced on Wednesday it will move Friday’s annual Veterans Day Parade inside the Goldstein Center for Performing Arts “due to the potential of inclement weather.”
The parade will feature a guest speaker - Representative Heath Clark of the Georgia House of Representatives for District 147.
