MACON, Ga. — Imagine waking up to shots being fired at your house in the middle of the night. Now, imagine it happening three times. However, this wasn't a dream for Latonia Seals and her family. This was their reality.
Seals is a mother and has lived in Macon all her life. She says the shootings started happening in August. She's worried for her family's safety.
"I'm emotionally struggling. I just want whatever is going on, I don't know what it is, just stop doing it to my house. Just leave my house alone," she said.
According to the incident reports from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, her husband, Clark Seals, was shot in the back shoulder and another bullet went through her daughter's headboard. Her daughter, Kiara Seals, says it makes her feel uncomfortable.
"It's very unsettling when you don't really know what's going but your house gets shot up three times," the 14-year-old said.
The Macon mother says she doesn't know who would shoot up her home three different times but "feels it's teenagers," but doesn't know who exactly.
The most recent shooting happened on November 4, around 11:15 p.m. Seals told 13WMAZ everybody was asleep. She had just gone to bed and the next thing she heard was gunshots.
Seals says someone sent her an Instagram voicemail saying they weren't going to stop shooting up her home until someone was dead. She told the sheriff's office about this. Major Brad Wolfe with the sheriff's office told 13WMAZ since they are still investigating, they cannot confirm or deny if they know who is doing this to Seals' home.
Seals is worried someone will end up shooting her home and actually killing someone. She says she wants it all to stop.
"I want a world of peace. I know I may not have 100% peace, but I should be able to have peace in my own house."
Bibb County is up to 60 homicides this year.
