An overnight fire in Forsyth destroyed a flower shop in the city's downtown square.
Forsyth Mayor Eric Wilson says the fire began around 3 a.m. Tuesday at Flowers by Helen.
Fire crews arrived and were able to contain the blaze to just the one business, while adjacent businesses suffered from smoke damage.
At this time, officials say the fire does not appear to be intentionally set.
"We're very sorry for the loss that Angie and Mike Ellis, the owners, suffered because their business was heavily damaged," said Wilson. "Fortunately the businesses to either side of them did not suffer any direct fire damage. They have a lot of smoke damage, but it was a big fire. I just really want to applaud the fire departments for getting this fire knocked down so quickly."
