Kroger on Forsyth Road reopens after heavy rains caused flooding

The store has reopened.

MACON, Ga. — UPDATE: 7:38 a.m. Tuesday: The Kroger has reopened after heavy rains caused damaged and forced it to close on Monday.

The Kroger on Forsyth Road is closed after heavy Central Georgia rains caused damage to the store.

13WMAZ reached out to Kroger corporate and they sent us back this statement:

"The Kroger store located at 4650 Forsyth Road in Macon has been temporarily closed due to flood damage from the heavy rains. Our team is onsite to inspect and repair the damage so the store can reopen as soon as possible. We do not have a specific date for reopening at this time. We greatly appreciate the support and patience of our customers."

13WMAZ spoke to a manager at the Forsyth Road Kroger and they told us the rains caused a leak in the roof that went straight into a computer room. Thye told us that several computers were damaged by the water and their IT department is working to fix it.

They are hoping to re-open the store by 6 p.m.

In the meantime, customers can shop at their other locations on Zebulon, Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard and North Avenue.
