My Teacher is Tops: Miss Abigail Engelbracht at Monroe County Middle School

Abigail Engelbracht at Monroe County Middle School just started at the school. But to her students, she already "makes learning fun, and makes us feel special."

FORSYTH, Ga. — School is officially in session which means we are kicking off our My Teacher is Tops for the 2024-2025 school year.

We start in Forsyth, where three students at Monroe County Middle School couldn't wait to tell us about their teacher.

Miss Abigail Engelbracht is a 7th-grade math teacher at Monroe County Middle, and though she has been teaching for 5 years, this is her first year at the school.

However, that hasn't stopped her from making a lasting impact on her students.

Students Canaan Reynolds, Luci McBrayer and Ava Kale nominated Miss Engelbracht for the award and they told us just a few of the reasons why in their letter.

The trio said that Miss Engelbracht "makes learning fun, and makes us feel special. She loves and cares about everyone equally. She is the most positive person we know...she starts our day on a positive note, we love [her]"

We even got a sense for how close these students feel to Miss Engelbracht, as they told us "she helps us not dread going to school every day," followed by laughter from Engelbracht.

It's no doubt that Miss Engelbracht is making a difference in these students' lives, and she tells us she is honored by their nomination and the words in their letter. She say she feels "really special," saying she really appreciates that they this this for her.

"I really want to shout out this whole class, they've been really awesome day in and day out," Engelbracht said.

Congratulations Miss Engelbracht!
