MACON, Ga. — What's better than one Jason Aldean concert in 2024? Well two of them, of course, including one to benefit the local children's hospital here in Aldean's hometown.
On Wednesday, the Grand Opera House in Macon announced that the Central Georgia native will be performing at The Grand on Thursday, Oct. 3.
The concert's proceeds will benefit the Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital in Macon.
The hospital, now a part of Atrium Health Navicent, have several pediatricians and family medicine providers, but also have pediatric surgeons for children from all over, according to its website.
They said that tickets will go on sale on Friday, Aug. 30 on Tixr or at their website here.
The announcement post noted that Aldean will be joined by fellow Macon based songwriters and singers Maggie Reeves and Josh Carson.
Aldean’s performance at the Grand Opera House will come two days before his performance at the Atrium Health Amphitheatre on Saturday, Oct. 5.
This performance is the last one on his “Highway Desperado Tour,” which has him visiting several locations across the country. This tour is in relation to his most recent album “Highway Desperado,” which was his 11th album he’s released.
Aldean, who was born and raised in Macon, has taken home three Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year awards, five Grammy nominations and won the ACM Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award in 2019.
In 2021, he released “Macon" as part of a double album, the second being Georgia in 2022. In 2023, he released his latest album, "Highway Desperado." Aldean made headlines earlier this year for his hit single from the album "Try That in a Small Town."
Aldean has held several concerts in Macon benefiting the Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital, including raising over $700,000 for the hospital in 2017.
This will be one of Aldean’s most recent appearances in Macon since his performance at the Musicians Hall of Fame Museum Concert and Induction Ceremony in 2019.
