MACON, Ga. — People living on Jeffersonville Road say they're feeling uneasy after a shootout that happened at a Family Dollar on Tuesday night.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office arrested and charged 17-year-old Carlos Reynolds and a 15-year-old with armed robbery. They also charged the 15-year-old with aggravated assault on an officer.
"The suspect fired one shot at the deputy and the deputy returned fire," said Sergeant Linda Howard with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
Homeowners in the neighborhood told 13WMAZ they rely heavily on the store for food, clothes, and other household items. Now, they say they don't know if it's safe to walk through the store's front doors after a third robbery in the last eight months.
Sergeant Howard says five people were shopping in the store at the time. Lisa Williams says neighbors are questioning how safe it is to shop there.
"It makes you nervous. You have some disabled people and some families who are walking down there to buy things that they need like groceries and stuff, and we are concerned," said Williams.
Police are still looking for another suspect and a person of interest. Williams fears crime at the store will only get worse going into the summer.
"You are trying to pick a time that you think it will be safe for you because, like I said, a lot of us have small children and grandchildren," said Williams.
After hearing the teens were behind bars, Williams says she is praying the youth choose a better path.
"No matter what you instill in an individual or your child or loved one, neighbors, whatever, they've got to want to do better and want better for all of us," said Williams.
Sergeant Linda Howard with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says deputies patrol the area regularly. She says the deputy on patrol the night of the robbery dispatched to the store in just seconds.
