'I have faith in our law:' Two teens in custody for Macon clerk shootings

"I know we can't bring AP back, but he can get justice, and I really believe that and I have faith in our law."

Two Macon teens are now in custody for deadly shootings at two convenience stores, just one week apart.

People who work at both convenience store locations where two store clerks were killed say that's where they belong, and now justice can be served.

"Good -- takes them off the street. It's where he belongs," says Jason Posey, co-worker at Market Place #5.

Close friends and co-workers of Rickey Ali and A.P. Prajapati hold onto to their memory.

"Always cheerful, respectful. Give you anything you wanted. He was a nice guy," says Posey.

Navpreet Kaur, Prajapati's close friend says,"He treated my kids as his own brothers and his kids, too."

On August 14th, A.P. Prajapati was shot once and killed at Gulf Food Market on Napier Avenue. A week later, Ali was shot in the chest at Market Place #5 on Vineville Avenue. Now, investigators say the same two teens were responsible for both shootings.

One of them, 17-year-old Jeremy Kendrick appeared before a magistrate judge facing two counts murder, and two counts of armed robbery with no bond. The 16-year-old, Arie Calloway is being held in Macon Regional Youth Detention center.

Investigators say they identified the two from store surveillance video. They were arrested at a home on Lakeview Drive after a tip to Crimestoppers. Some family and friends of the victims say their minds are somewhat at ease.

"I know we can't bring AP back, but he can get justice, and I really believe that and I have faith in our law," says Kaur.

Jeremy Kendrick asked for a commitment hearing and that is scheduled for September 14.
