HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. — Update, 8:40 a.m. March 23:
According to a call from Lieutenant Matt Moulton, the man died from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
He says they do not have a name yet, because the next of kin hasn't been notified.
The road is now open to traffic.

The Houston County Sheriff's Department has Houston Road blocked off from Sandifer Road to Hunt Road.
According to Lieutenant Matt Moulton, this all unfolded just after 6 a.m. in what is said to be a domestic situation.
The person inside the house does not have any hostages.
Lieutenant Moulton says they did hear a single gunshot go off.
The sheriff's department is in the process of securing search warrants to go into the home.
Please avoid Houston Road at least for the next hour in this developing situation.
