Fort Valley church to 'Feed the City' for Thanksgiving

The church is giving away over 2,000 meals to families in need.

FORT VALLEY, Ga. — One Houston County church is giving thanks by giving to people in need.

Hope Church of Fort Valley will have their annual "Feed the City" event on Saturday, November 19.

The church will give frozen turkeys to families, along with stuffing, canned goods, mac & cheese, and more.

The congregation has more than 2,500 of each item to give away.

Jordan Poole is Hope Church's head pastor. He says they want families to enjoy the holidays with a home-cooked meal.

"I think it can bring hope to people." Poole says. "We still live in a world where people want to help, serve, and live in a better community."

The food drive is this Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon on 204 Sullivan Road in Fort Valley by the Peach County-Houston County border.
