BONAIRE, Ga. — A house fire in Bonaire closed a section of Georgia Highway-247 on Monday night, according to Houston County Fire Chief Chris Stoner.
Just after 8 p.m. Monday night, Stoner told 13WMAZ that the fire is an active scene, and Highway 247 was closed at Sandy Run Road due to the fire.
Everyone made it out of the house, and no one was injured during the fire, Stoner said.
However, Stoner recommends avoiding the area because of the road closure.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation's 511 website, the road was closed at around 7:42 p.m.
As of 8:20 p.m., GDOT expects the road closure to be taken care of at around 9 p.m., but that time could change.
As of 9 p.m., the end date was pushed back to 10 p.m. and the lanes were all still closed.
However, at around 10:30 p.m., 511 showed all lanes were reopened.
