Here's how you can help with Stuff the Truck 2024

13WMAZ is partnering with the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank to collect food donations to help families through the holidays.

MACON, Ga. — It’s that time of year! Just like in years past, 13WMAZ and the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank needs your help to Stuff the Truck! This year, you can donate food items at Walmart locations across Central Georgia from November 19 through November 21 or you can donate online right now by clicking the link below.

At our Stuff the Truck event in 2023, many told us they gave because they were once food insecure. The simple definition of food insecurity is a person who doesn’t know where their next meal will come from.

The Middle Georgia Community Food Bank serves 24 counties across Central Georgia--that's more than 716,000 people. The food bank says of that population, about 106,000 (one in seven) are food insecure and about 38,000 are children.

We know that our Stuff the Truck event can make a difference for our neighbors in need. Last year, with your help, we collected a record 61,208 pounds of food and raised $8,740 in monetary donations. We know we can do it again--and better!--in 2024.

Like last year, schools across Central Georgia, including private and public schools, are hosting food drives to help support Stuff the Truck. This year, we're trying to get even more people involved... so we invited local churches to do the same thing.

You can join our effort by marking your calendar and donating at one of our in-person Stuff the Truck events at Walmart in late November.
