Gregg Allman to be buried at Macon's Rose Hill cemetery

Southern-rock legend Gregg Allman will be buried next to his brother Duane in one of their favorite spots -- Macon's Rose Hill Cemetery.

That's according to his manager, Michael Lehman.

Lehman told the Associated Press that Allman kept quiet about his liver cancer because he didn't want it to affect his career.

He said Allman "wanted to continue to play music until he couldn't."

Allman died Saturday at his home near Savannah, Georgia, at the age of 69.

Allman had kept calling off concerts in the past year for unspecified health reasons. He denied last month he was in hospice. He had a liver transplant in 2010 after contracting hepatitis C.

Lehman says funeral arrangements are pending but the plan is to bury Allman in Macon next to his brother Duane, who died in 1971

Since then, their graves have become like shrines to the band's fans, who often leave bottles, flowers, pictures and other mementos.
