COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A teenager has been arrested for the seventh time for impersonating a police officer in Cobb County, authorities say.
Samuel Mallard, 17, was arrested after police said he visited a home on Poplar Log Place around 1:10 a.m. Monday. A mother called police and said she was in the shower when Mallard knocked on her front door.
Her teenage children answered the door and said Mallard told them he was was a U.S. Marshal.
The teens went to get their mother. When she came and cracked the door, she told police she saw Mallard get info a Ford Ranger and drive away.
She called 911 and reported Mallard was dressed in a U.S. Marshal's tactical vest and tan khakis.
Officers in the area spotted the truck and pulled it over. Mallard told them he was looking for a friend's house and gave police an address that did not exist, police said.
Officers searched the truck and found a black pellet gun inside a Black Hawk holster, a flashlight, a large green laser pointer, a Motorola radio, and a tan tactical vest that had front and back patches with the words "U.S. Marshals POLICE Fugitive Task Force" on them.
Mallard is charged with the stop sign violation and impersonating a police officer.
