ROSWELL, Ga. — A new ranking has named one Georgia city one of the best places to live in the United States.
The website Livability recently released its list of the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S. in 2024, and the City of Roswell was ranked among the top cities.
The list was compiled using data from thousands of cities and taking into account their economies, housing and cost of living, amenities, transportation, environment, safety, education and health. Cities are then given a LivScore, which is essentially a grade for the city based on the data points.
There are no numerical rankings provided, but the city with the highest LivScore is Carmel, Indiana, with an 875. Roswell scored 837, falling just 11 spots shy of the top spot.
The suburb, which is nestled about half an hour from downtown Atlanta, was praised for its proximity to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Chattahoochee River. The website also praised Roswell for its countless outdoor activities and attractions, such as the Vickery Creek Basin, cycling paths, playgrounds, parks and sports complexes.
"Some say this scenic city is the suburb that has it all. Everything you could possibly need is conveniently located within the bounds of this northern Fulton County city," the city's summary read.
Along with its natural beauty, Livability also commended Roswell's Computer Museum of America, restaurants, and annual festivals.
