EASTMAN, Ga. — The GBI says it's investigating a reported sexual assault at the Dodge County Middle School.
By email, Lindsay Wilkes of the GBI's Eastman office says the alleged assault involved two students, both juveniles.
She said the students knew each other and the alleged assault was not a "stranger-to-stranger" case.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office asked the GBI to assist with the case.
When the GBI's investigation is complete, Wilkes wrote, the case will be turned over to the Oconee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office for review.
Wilkes said she could not release any further details on the case and said this week that no arrests had been made.
A Dodge County man told 13WMAZ that his daughter, a 14-year-old, was the victim. He said he was concerned about security in the school and asked how it could have happened.
13WMAZ reached out to Dodge County Superintendent Rex Hodges. He said he had "no comment at this time."
